Yankees Host Reds, Red Sox Before All-Star Break in NY Sports Betting
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

After two consecutive road losses to the Boston Red Sox last weekend, and with a day off on Monday, the New York Yankees are back in action tonight as they host the Cincinnati Reds to begin a three-game series.

The top New York betting sites are making odds for the team with the best record in baseball, the Yankees (61-25), facing one of the worst teams in baseball, the 34-52 Reds.

The week ends with the RedSox making a return trip to New York.

Sizing Up Tonight’s Matchup

Gerrit Cole (8-2, 3.6 ERA) will take the mound for New York against Graham Ashcraft (4-2, 4.35 ERA). The game is on the YES Network at 7:05 p.m.

In Cole’s 17 starts this season, New York is 13-4 with nine of those wins coming by two runs or more. However, during his career against the Reds, Cole is an awful 1-8 with a 4.68 ERA in 13 appearances.

Despite that stat, the Yankees are heavy favorites tonight on all New York sports betting apps.

Caesars Sportsbook New York lists the Yankees as a -335 moneyline favorite and at -160 giving 1.5 runs.

The Reds have had a horrid start but have won four consecutive games highlighted by helping the Yankees with a three-game home series sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays last weekend. They are +260 as a moneyline underdog at Caesars and at +135 getting 1.5 runs. The over/under run total in the game is 8.5.

FanDuel Sportsbook New York, meanwhile, has the Yankees as a -330 moneyline favorite. They are -162 giving 1.5 runs.

The Reds are +265 moneyline underdogs in MLB betting on FanDuel and the over-under also is 8.5.

The Reds are 6-4 over their last 10 games but sport a 14-26 road record.

Yankees in All-Star Game

With the best record in baseball, the Yankees are sending the most players to the All-Star Game.

Cole, fellow starting pitcher Nestor Cortes, relief pitcher Clay Holmes and catcher Jose Trevino will join AL starters Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton on July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

This is the first time since 2011 (eight) that the Yankees have had six or more All-Stars.

It is the first All-Star appearance for Cortes, Trevino and Holes.

It is the fifth trip to the All-Star Game for Cole and Stanton and fourth for Judge.
