Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

A major overhaul took place inside the Buffalo Bills organization on Wednesday. Six players were released from the four-time AFC East defending champions, including two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White.

The moves will affect some fans’ favorite players and surely catch the attention at New York sportsbooks.

White is recovering from a torn right Achilles suffered on Oct. 1. He is being designated as a post-June 1 cut, which will provide additional savings for Buffalo, which is a projected league-high $44 million over the salary cap.

Other players released included wide receiver Deonte Harty, running back Nyheim Hines, center Mitch Morse, cornerback Siran Neal and safety Jordan Poyer.

EmpireStakes.com – your source for NY sports betting promo codes – wondered where White might play next. So, we developed hypothetical odds on where White could possibly land for the 2024 season. Here are our destinations:

Narrowing Focus on White

White, 29, played for seven seasons in Buffalo and garnered Pro Bowl selections in back-to-back years (2019, 2020). For his career, he has had 311 tackles (242 solo), 12 tackles for loss, including three sacks, and 18 interceptions.

Heavy interest could come from two teams tied for the favorite spot on the top of our list: the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots at, +350 each (22.2% chance). The Pittsburgh Steelers, who could bolster an already stingy defense, are third at +800 (11.1%).

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking for more help on the defensive side of the ball and are fourth at +1600 (5.9%). The Los Angeles Rams are fifth at +1750 (5.4%). Any other team, or to resign with the Bills, are the most likely scenarios, in our estimation, at +200 (33.2%).

Even with the players released, NY betting apps are still high on Buffal as a contender.

Super Bowl winner: +1200 (tied with Detroit for fourth favorite)

AFC winner: +600 (third favorite)

AFC East Division winner: +130 (favorite)

The question is, will the salary cap hurt the Bills chances of replacing some players in free agency and the upcoming NFL Draft in Detroit (April 25-27) to finally get to the next level? We shall see.
