Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

After a brief dip below the $300 million dollar mark in total mobile handle a week earlier, mobile New York sportsbooks bounced back nicely.

The official numbers for the week ending Sept. 25 were released Thursday by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC).

The total wagering handle from NY sports betting apps was more than $301.63 million, a $4.96 million increase ($296.66 million) from the week before and the second time in the last three weeks the handle has eclipsed the $300M level.

It was also only the third time over $300M since the week ending May 8 ($331.73M).

The state’s mobile sports wagering Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) was at $29.84 million, its first decline since the week ending Aug. 28.

New York taxes sports betting at 51%, joining New Hampshire for the highest rate in the United States. This week, more than $15.2 million was sent to Albany.

EmpireStakes.com closely monitors the state’s handle and revenue reports and also is a sure bet for the best New York sportsbook promo codes.
