New York Sports Betting Preview: Yankees End Week with 4 Games at Fenway
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

It’s back to opportunities for New York sports betting fans to consider the New York Yankees now that a rare off-day on the Fourth of July has passed.

Let’s take a look at what has passed over the holiday weekend for the team with the best record in baseball, what lies ahead and what New York oddsmakers are thinking.

Sweep Eludes Yankees

New York took the first two games of the series against the Cleveland Guardians before losing, 2-0, on Sunday.

The loss to the Guardians ended a span of 20 games without a scheduled off-day for the Yankees. The July 1 game with Cleveland was postponed due to weather and was made up as part of a doubleheader the next day. The Yankees swept the twinbill, 13-4 and 6-1.

During that span, the Yankees posted a 14-6 record and currently lead the American League East by a commanding 13 games over their rival, the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox will host the Yankees this weekend.

Sizing Up the Coming Week

The Yankees are now 58-22 (.725) and will visit the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jameson Taillon (9-1, 3.32 ERA) takes the hill for the Yankees against Jose Quintana (1-4, 3.43 ERA). The game is on the YES Network at 7 p.m.

The Pirates (32-47, .405) enter the game with one of the worst records in baseball. Oddly, they still are in third place in the five-team NL Central, ahead of the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds but 10½ games behind the first-place Milwaukee Brewers.

The Yankees then play four games at Fenway Park. New York has registered a 24-13 road record so far this season.
