New York’s First Mobile Anniversary: A Look at the Numbers
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

“I want to be a part of it, New York, New York” - Frank Sinatra

That famous lyric by Ol’ Blue Eyes epitomizes the energy of the state’s bettors as legalized mobile New York sports betting celebrates its one-year anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 8 - the final full day of the NFL’s regular season.

After then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved online sports betting in the Empire State in April 2021, the next nine months were marked by a wait-and-see approach until the first four of nine mobile providers launched on the first day of the NFL’s wild-card weekend:  NY BetRivers, Caesars Sportsbook NY, DraftKings NY and FanDuel NY.

Then, in order, would come BetMGM NY, WynnBet NY, PointsBet NY, Resorts World NY and finally Bally Bet NY.
