Both New York baseball teams have New York sports betting booming.

The New York Yankees and New York Mets have the best records in their respective leagues and have been on fire lately.

On Tuesday, the Yankees won their 11th consecutive game – the longest in MLB this season – with a 9-1 rout of their American League East division foe, the Toronto Blue Jays. The win raised the Yankees’ record to 18-6 (.750), best in the major leagues.

On Wednesday morning at DraftKings Sportsbook New York, the Yankees are +700 (tied with the Blue Jays) to win the World Series, just behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (+475).

Odds Shifting Dramatically Since Opening Day

BetMGM Sportsbook New York has both the Yankees and Mets at +800 to win the World Series, tied with the Blue Jays and behind the Dodgers (+500). The Yankees are +400 to win the American League and +120 to take the AL East.

Oddsmakers are taking notice of the hot start, as the line has become shorter since Opening Day. Before the season, BetMGM had the Yankees at +1100 for the World Series, at +550 to win the AL and +230 to take the AL East.

Right now, in MLB betting, BetMGM has the Yankees as the favorite to win the American League at +300, with the Blue Jays right behind at +350. To win the American League East, the Yankees are -110 favorites over the Blue Jays (+155), Tampa Bay Rays (+650) and Boston Red Sox (+1700). The Baltimore Orioles are at a whopping +100000!

The Yankees will shoot for their 12th victory in a row and a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays tonight. A three-game home set with the Texas Rangers, who have won three straight heading into Wednesday, begins Friday.

Meet the Red-Hot Mets

Over in Queens, the New York Mets (18-8, .692) have the best record in the National League. They are a solid 7-3 in their last 10 games and are coming off a Tuesday doubleheader home sweep of their NL East rival, the Atlanta Braves, 5-4 and 3-0.

A check at Caesars Sportsbook New York Wednesday morning has the Mets at +750 to win the World Series, just behind the Dodgers (+450) and at +450 to win the National League, again just behind the Dodgers (+225).

BetMGM's updated info, released Wednesday morning, shows the Mets have the highest ticket percentage to with the NL pennant at 19.2%, the highest handle at 29.1% and remains BetMGM’s biggest liability for this wager.

BetMGM has the Mets at +800 to win it all and +400 to win the National League. They are a solid -135 favorite to top the NL East.

Compare that to before the season, when the Mets were +1000 to be World Series champs, +550 to win the NL and +140 to take the division.

The Mets, who conclude their four-game set with the Braves today with a 1:10 p.m. matinee, currently have a 4½-game lead over the Miami Marlins and a six-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies in the division.

Starting Thursday, the Mets travel down the New Jersey Turnpike to take on the Phillies in a four-game series.
