The charm of March Madness again made for extremely favorable numbers for mobile NY sportsbooks this past week.

Especially for FanDuel Sportsbook NY and Draft Kings Sportsbook NY, which had record weekly handles in the state.

Overall, the handle number was the third-highest weekly figure ever for the Empire State.

The official figures for the week ending March 19 were released by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC).

Just shy of $460 million was handled ($17.28 million increase from previous week), making it the highest since more than $472.13 million was recorded for the week ending Feb. 13, 2022. It was also the 15th time the weekly handle has gone above $400 million. 
 
The record week for handle was more than $572.55 million for the week ending Jan. 23, set 15 days after New York sports betting apps launched on Jan. 8, 2022.

Total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) came in at more than $39.18 million, a $1.21 million decrease from a week ago.

Weekly tax collected for the week: $19.98 million. As a reminder, New York’s tax rate of 51% is tied with New Hampshire for the nation's highest.

Since launch, the state has handled more than $20.664 billion, has generated over $1.709 billion in total GGR and has collected about $871.72 million in taxes for the state.

Down Go Handle Mark for FanDuel, DraftKings

The dynamic 1-2 punch of FanDuel Sportsbook NY and DraftKings NY led the way, in record fashion.

As mentioned earlier, FanDuel exceeded $188.33 million in handle, breaking its state record set a week earlier.

Meanwhile, Boston-based DraftKings recorded its highest weekly handle ever at $154.08 million, a $6.2 million week-over-week increase. It also marked the company's fourth consecutive weekly jump.

DraftKings overall has generated more than $6.022 billion in total handle, $458,104,218 in GGR and has collected more than $233.63 million in taxes.

Seven of the nine mobile providers in the state had increases in weekly handle. The exceptions: BallyBet NY and NY BetRivers. 

More Notes from NY Sportsbooks

BetMGM Sportsbook NY posted more than $29.86 million in handle, its highest since $32.48 million was recorded for the week ending Jan. 22.To date, BetMGM has generated close to $1.65 million in total handle, over $102.36 million in GGR and $52.2 million in taxes. 
 
WynnBET NY posted more than $3.05 million in handle, its largest since $3.42 million for the week ending Nov. 27.

PointsBet NY now has recorded over $7 million. 
 
Resorts World New York came in at $1.55 million in handle as it has generated over $1 million in eight of the last nine weeks.
