After last year’s 42-36 overtime loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in arguably the most exciting and nerve-racking NFL playoff game ever held, the Buffalo Bills skyrocketed to be one of this year’s Super Bowl favorites in New York sports betting.

BetMGM Sportsbook New York and DraftKings Sportsbook New York have the Bills as the favorite to win the Super Bowl at +650.

Following an 11-6 regular season, a second consecutive AFC East division title and back-to-back seasons with a playoff win for the first time since 1992-1993, the Bills will seek re-enforcements as they have the 25th overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, set to take place Thursday through Saturday this week in Las Vegas.

The Bills have nine picks in the 2022 NFL draft (rounds listed) — 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th (from Carolina), 6th and 7th (from Atlanta).

This will be the first time in franchise history the Bills will have the 25th pick.

Marcus Mosher gave EmpireStakes.com his analysis of the Bills days before the draft.

Bills’ Betting Bonanza

Since launching mobile sports betting in the state Jan. 8, the Bills were the most bet on team overall in New York by handle and total bets, outlasting downstate rivals the New York Giants and New York Jets.

PointsBet Sportsbook New York released Against the Spread figures in 20 different betting categories for Buffalo last season and the Bills returned a favorable .500 record or better in 17 of them.

Based on the data, here are some of the records that stood out last season for the Bills:
  • Division games: 5-1-1 (83.3% cover percentage)
  • After a loss: 4-1-1 (80%)
  • With rest disadvantage: 4-1 (80%)
  • Non-conference games: 3-1-1 (75%)
  • As favorite: 8-5-2 (61.5%)
  • Regular season games: 9-6-2 (60%)
  • All games: 10-7-2 (58.8%)
  • After a victory: 6-5-1 (54.5%)

The below .500 records were few:
  • Non-division games: 5-6-1 (45.5%)
  • After a bye: 0-0-1 (0%)
  • With rest advantage: 0-2-1 (0%)

Bills’ Opponents Heading into Next Season

In addition to their AFC East opponents home and away with the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets, the Bills’ home opponents for 2022 will be the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans.

The Bills’ road opponents are the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams.

The 2022 NFL regular season schedule will be released Thursday, May 12 at 8 p.m. ET (NFL Network, NFL.com).
